The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akwa Ibom state, Obong Nsima Ekere has called for the cancellation of results of any polling unit where there is violence.

Ekere stated this shortly after he cast his vote around 10:49 am at Edemeya ward 1, unit 004, in Ikot Abasi Local government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Ekere, who also lamented the late arrival of election materials in his unit, appealed to INEC to extend period of voting in areas where materials arrived late.

His words, “INEC should cancel election process anywhere there is violence or hijacking of materials.

“However, there is peace generally but it’s unfortunate that materials arrived here late. INEC should make up for the delay by extending voting time anywhere we have such delays.”

Ekere, while talking with journalists, said he is hopeful of victory.
