An Edo governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Blessing Agbomhere has asked Governor Adams Oshiomhole to apologise to the national leadership of the party for denigrating the party leaders.

Agbomhere stated this at a press conference in Abuja on Monday in reaction to comments allegedly made by the Governor during a visit by the Oyinlola-led APC fact-finding/reconciliation committee of the APC. Oshiomhole reportedly said that there was no problem in the Edo APC and that the national secretariat of the party should first settle its internal wrangling at the national level before, “shedding crocodile tears” about the state.

While asserting that the Governor’s utterances and conduct are not befitting of a statesman, he advised Oshiomhole to either apologise or seek forgiveness from the party, else he should be shown the way out.

According to the aspirant, “the utterance is an attempt by Adams Oshiomhole to tarnish the image of the national secretariat of the APC and blackmail it into abandoning the Edo APC to his dictates and desperation to impose his close ally and business partner on Edo people.

“The governor does not have any right to insult the national secretariat of the party, a man who has never voted for the party.

“If Adams Oshiomhole is truly a member of the APC, who believes in the party’s constitution, he should have known that his godson is not qualified to be the governor of Edo State.

“Considering my contributions to the party, I am more qualified than Adams Oshiomhole’s candidate. Economically, I will dwarf him, and in character, I will thrash him.”
