APC: Governors begin nationwide mobilization

In an attempt to continuously strengthen its support base across the country, State Governors of the newly formed political party, All Progressives Congress, APC, say they have established Zonal Contact & Mobilization Committees in the six geo-political zones.

The governors under the aegis of the Progressive Governors’ Alliance ,PGA, said they were keen on attracting more members to the party. According to Nassarawa State Governor Tanko Almakura, who spoke after a meeting attended by 11 governors in Abuja, Yobe State Governor Ibrahim Geidam is the head of the committee in the Northeast. Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari is the head of the committee in the Northwest. Tanko heads the North Central zone.

Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha heads the Southeast zone, Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole is in charge of the Southsouth zone mobilization.

Meanwhile, Okorocha has promised that governors under the unified party will implement free Education in their states.

The Imo helmsman who made this position known in Abuja on Tuesday after the group’s meeting, said he and his colleagues will prove themselves as true social democrats by putting in place free and compulsory education especially at the primary and secondary levels.

The 10 governors, under the yet-to-be registered APC were elected under the banners of: All Progressive Grand Alliance, Action Congress of Nigeria, All Nigeria Peoples Party and the Congress for Progressive Change.
