Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has spoken on reaction by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu, to his revelation that the latter recently slumped and was rushed to a hospital.

The former presidential aide had claimed that Tinubu collapsed shortly after he was appointed Co-Chairman of President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 Campaign Council.

Fani-Kayode urged Nigerians, especially Yorubas to pray for the former Lagos governor.

He also noted that Tinubu always experiences terrible things each time he was given a major role in the APC government.

On Friday, Tinubu called the claim “fake news”.

He spoke in Abuja when he received the representatives of traditional rulers from South West States led by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

“Whoever is manufacturing it, you better not believe them”, Tinubu added.

Reacting on Saturday, Fani-Kayode said Tinubu was being economical with the truth.

He reminded Tinubu that he was a public figure and dared him to disclose his whereabouts during the Lagos APC campaign flag-off held at the Skypower Grounds, Government Reservation Area (GRA) in Ikeja on Tuesday.

“I stand by my story on Bola Tinubu. He left hospital on 9th January”, Fani-Kayode told DAILY POST.

“I am happy he is out of the trauma but before anyone says I was lying, they should tell us where he was on the day of the flagging off of the Lagos state campaign.

“That was the first time he missed it in 20 years!

“Nobody wishes him ill-health and what I said was out of good faith.”
