APC crisis: Adamawa lawmaker reveals how President Buhari ignored Murtala Nyako

Senator Abdullaziz Nyako, representing Adamawa Central and Chairman of Senate Committee on Special duties has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari ignored his father who visited him three times to ensure that the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adamawa State, conducted a fair congress.

The lawmaker, who defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside 14 others on Tuesday, told DAILY POST in an exclusive interview in Abuja.

Explaining reasons for his defection, he said, Admiral Murtala Nyako and other APC chieftains, who saw how APC was being manipulated by Governor Jibrila Bindow visited President Buhari three times pleading for his intervention, but nothing happened.

“Six months to the Congress, Admiral Nyako visited President Buhari pleading that there should be a free and fair congresses, but he was ignored.

“We visited the APC National Secretariat severally with complaints against the Governor of Adamawa for not likely to conduct congresses, but nothing happened,” he said.

He said he defected to the ADC because APC was worse than PDP, having refused to learn lessons from the downfall of PDP, insisting that his former party cannot survive the injustice done to the people.

“Adamawa is the most complex state in all states of the federation with 86 different tribes and anything short of fairness, it’s all over for the party.” He maintained.
