The Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, has announced that its mid-term convention will hold on May 11, 2013.
This is in line with its resolve to become a part of the proposed mega-party, All Progressives Congress.
Other parties in the coalition include the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, All Nigeria People’s Party, ANPP and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
The National Publicity Secretary of the CPC, Engineer Rotimi Fashakin, said the decision was taken at an expanded meeting of the party.
He said: “At an expanded National Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday, 16th April, 2013, an approval was given to the proposal to have the mid-term convention of the party on May 11, 2013.
“Already, the Independent National Electoral Commission had been informed about this date and an acknowledgement received.”
Fashakin said the meeting further approved the presentation of the constitution and the party manifesto.
