Activist lawyer, Femi Falana, has maintained that states controlled by the All Progressives Congress, APC, are insincere in their fight against corruption.
He stressed that other than Kano State, other APC controlled states are insincere in their anti-corruption fight, hence the inability to constitute a formal structure to fight corruption.
The human right lawyer made the remark on Tuesday, in Kano, while delivering a keynote paper at a two-day stakeholders’ dialogue on corruption in Nigeria.
Falana said: “Only Kano State among all the 20 APC controlled states and indeed in the entire country has been able to establish Anti-Corruption Commission as an agency to fight corruption at the state level.
“But if we are to fight corruption effectively as a country, the job shouldn’t be only that of the Federal Government.
“Even at the federal level too, Federal Government has too much control over EFCC and ICPC such that they are selective in their probes.”
He also charged the government to be more concerned about wealth creation rather than pursuing corruption across the country.
