The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Tuesday challenged the state government as a matter of urgency to mention the names of the people sponsoring the claimed intended attacks in the seven local government areas of the state including Gusau the state capital by the Boko Haram elements.
The party noted that since the government was able to gather the information through security intelligence, it should be able to pinpoint the people to make its case convincible to the public glare rather than leaving everybody in doubt.
Addressing newsmen at the Zamfara north zonal meeting of the stakeholders in Kaura Namoda party office where the chairman of the state Publicity Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Birnin-Magaji threw the challenge to the state government.
DAILY POST reports that the state government on Monday alerted the whole world that some disgruntled politicians have sponsored Boko Haram elements to unleash terror attacks in seven local government areas of the state.
It was, however, gathered that the allegation was made by Governor Bello Muhammed Matawalle, who spoke at a press conference through his Director-General Press Affairs, Malam Yusuf Idris, quoting an intelligence report.
The publicity chairman, however, said: “We heard the state government alleging that some politicians are working against peace accord and reconciliation process and stability in the state.
“We are challenging the state government to support its claim by exposing the names of those politicians behind the ugly plan as it noted that it was according to that intelligence report,” Birinin Magaji said.
In his statement, the state party Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Liman explained that the APC is a law-abiding, peaceful political party embraces to the core and peaceful environment where everyone would live in peace in the state.
