APC calls Fayose a rascal for laying off workers

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State on Thursday has being described by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State as a rascal for laying off about 180 employees of the Ekiti State House of Assembly and permanent secretaries.

The state Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, while issuing a press release yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, noted that by dismissing employees by the leader of the seven Peoples Democratic Party’s lawmakers, Dele Olugbemi, it goes a long way to show that Fayose is not a friend of the workers in the State.

He further affirmed that the workers laid off were duly employed by the House of Assembly Service Commission, with statutory approval since April, 2014 in line with all conditions of service clearly stated.

Olatunbosun observed why the affected workers were abruptly sacked through an announcement after the New Year church service without due process.

”Olugbemi have no such power to sack employees of the commission, even if he were to be the authentic Speaker of the House of Assembly’’he noted.

“This is a legislative rascality which is a corollary of executive rascality and recklessness by the Fayose administration.

“How can someone with genuine love of his people behave in a manner suggestive that he is an enemy of the people he professes to love?”

Reacting to this claim, the PDP said the APC’s leadership should go and hide their faces in shame for defending irregularity in employment.

Dr Tope Aluko, the state Secretary of the PDP, in a release yesterday stated that those laid off had no appointment letters.

The State secretary noted that the immediate past government of APC, due to its evil intentions, deceived both its supporters and other members of the public to get involved “in an army of revenge and instruments of landmines” for the incoming administration Fayose.

He noted that “It is unfortunate that the APC in its shallow mentality could think that such mysterious employment and appointment could stand in a rational society, like ours, in Ekiti State.”
