APC BoT member, Benjamin Apugo threatens to drag EFCC to court over ex-Governor Orji

A member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Board of Trustees, BoT, Prince Benjamin Apugo on Friday threatened to drag the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to court for its perceived inability to investigate petitions brought against the immediate past Governor of Abia State, Senator Theodore Orji.

He wondered why the anti-graft agency had not investigated and arraigned the former governor over alleged massive looting that characterized his (Orji) administration as governor.

Apugo, who made this known to newsmen during a press conference held in his Umuahia residence, alleged that the former governor milked the resources of the state, which had made the state unable to progress.

He claimed that Senator Orji failed the people of Abia State, with nothing to show on ground as his achievement.

Apugo equally warned Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to stop sharing the resources of the state with the former governor but utilize the resources for what it was meant for.

He advised the state governor to dissociate himself from the former governor if he was ready to work for the people of the state.

He said: “I have said it severally that there would be a time I will take EFCC to court if they do not look into petitions brought against T. A Orji by groups in the state.”

“This is a man who has nothing to show on ground as a former governor, rather he looted the state,” he claimed.
