Governor Shettima
Ahead of the 2015 general election, the state House of Assembly in Borno state refused to sit on Thursday as only five members appeared at the Assembly complex following disagreement between the members and Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima over nomination form for APC candidates.
DailyPost gathered that, the governor was said to have purchased all the nomination forms and given them out to only candidates he feels are with him, while denying those candidates he assumed will be working against him in the coming election.
According to findings within the Assembly complex, there has been an agreement between the governor and some members that, the nomination form for the State Assembly would be sold at an appropriate time agreed by all parties, but only to discover that, the governor has been issuing the form to some people secretly.
An Assembly member told some of his supporters that, he was waiting to see whether or not the governor would fulfill his promise as he (governor Shettima) was said to have sent words to some of the angry members who are threatening to deal with him during the election that he has reserved their forms for them.
According to sources close to the member, ” Oga said, if the governor failed, we are moving to PDP even if it means that, he is not going to contest for any position and fight the governor, but if the governor keeps to his words, Oga said they would support him. For now, they are likely to hold meeting later in the day, we will know the outcome and I will keep you informed,” he said.
