The senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Chief Mao Ohuabunwa has said the plot by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to remove the Deputy Senate President, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu, would fail.
According to him, only the Senate that elected him had the constitutional powers to remove him if the need arises.
The legislator also dispelled the claims in some quarters that there was crisis in the Senate and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, adding that there was neither crisis in the PDP nor the Senate.
He warned those stoking the crisis in the National Assembly to have a rethink in the interest of the nation.
He said members of the National Assembly were committed to working hard to make Nigeria better for all, irrespective of tribe or religion. .
