Any student caught in examination malpractice, drug abuse will be punished – FUPRE VC

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State, Professor A. O. Akii Ibhadode, today warned that any student caught in the acts of examination malpractices, drug abuses, cultism and other social vices will face the wrath of the law.

Professor Akii Ibhadode who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor John Arubayi who handed down this warning at the 2016/2017 matriculation of the institution held today.

Prof. Akii Ibhadode stated that the institution had zero tolerance for such acts.

”I enjoin you to do your bits as committed students and avoid examination malpractice, academic fraud, indiscipline, fighting and other condemnable social vices plaguing our society.”

Prof. Akii Ibhadode charged the students to make use of available opportunities in the school by utilizing the available resources and copy their predecessors by working hard to win awards for the institution thereby immortalizing the name of the school in the hall of university achievers.

”your admission into this university of first choice not only places on you enormous responsibility to distinguish yourself in your academic pursuit but presents you with boundless opportunities to excel and join in projecting the image of the university.”

He noted that the institution had won in different competitions among which are the most fuel-efficient car award in gasoline category with the car racing 55km per liter of premium motor spirit(petrol), the 2015 Oil and Trading Logistics downstream development Africa, silver and bronze medals by the department of mathematics and computer at the 8th Nigerian National Mathematics held in Abuja in 2016 among others.

He added that the school chapters of Society for Petroleum Engineers also made a giant stride at the annual Technical Conference and Exhibition,PETROBOWL,for three consecutive years among others.
