The presence of security personnels deployed to Yobe state and the intense checks of persons coming in and out of the state is currently alarming.
However, the security at the entrance of the state told newsmen that the tight security in the state was important, considering that Yobe and Borno states were notorious for terrorists activities in the northeast.
According to a security officer at the government house, Damaturu, the President is a target of terrorists and the recent threat by Boko Haram leaders, called for tight security.
The Agents, who spoke harshly to people at the Yobe state Government House entrance said he was not brought in from Abuja to fail in his responsibilities and as far as he was concerned, the president is everything to protect and any other person coming to witness the president’s visit is considered a potential threat to the security of Mr. President.
Speaking to one of the stakeholders in Yobe state at the Wawa hall, where Mr. President is expected to have a talk with the people and elders of Yobe, Alhaji Nuhu Idrisa told our correspondent that, the security personnels from the Aso Villa have no respect for elders.
According to him,’We can not eat Mr. President. The security personnel are checking everything and almost embarrassing me, and almost stripping me naked
“This is their work, but they should do it with respect and sense of human. We, as Nigerians have the right to be treated with dignity and as Yobeans, we should not be treated as terrorists.’
