Osun State Muslim Community (OSMC), has called for urgent and immediate ‘surgical operation’ in both the judiciary and the legislative arms of government for effective war against corruption.
OSMC 1st Vice President, Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi stated this in Osogbo at a press conference heralding the 1439 Hijrah celebration.
He called on Nigerians to emulate the tolerance preached and exemplified by Prophet Muhammad during his life time.
While commending President Muhammadu Buhari on the initiatives of NPower volunteers programme, Olawuyi advised the federal government to look for better way of reducing unemployment.
He disclosed that prominent scholars have been scheduled to discuss on “Islamic Ruling on Kidnapping and Ritual Killings”, on Thursday, while the grand finale would hold at Osogbo City Stadium on Sunday.
“The president is trying, but something drastic need to be done. The NPower is good, but it is mere dashing out money to the people because government has not sat down to discuss what is actually needed to be done”, he said.
Olawuyi while speaking on the efforts of the federal government to reduce corruption noted that, “if workers are not collecting their salaries at the right time and we see people spending lavishly, then, government needs to sit tight, arrest those that need to be arrested and kill those that need to be killed.
“There must be political will to clean the judiciary and the legislatives. There is need for surgical operation in both the judiciary and the legislatives.
“If those that claimed to be making laws are buying a car that is more than N200 million and nothing is being done, they go to court and cases are being delayed, government needs to do something very drastic.”
