One of the victims of the Thursday’s road accident where involving the Amir of Abuja Municipal Area Council of Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Mr. Jameel Ibrahim, Mr. Aliyu Ibn Muhammad has passed away, DAILY POST has learnt.
MSSN National Secretary, General, Auwalu Yunusa made this announcement in a statement sent to DAILY POST Saturday evening.
DAILY POST gathered that Muhammad was until his death a Senior Secondary School Three (SSS3) student of School for the Gifted, Gwagwalada, Abuja.
The MSSN scribe in the statement declared that Muhammad who died on Saturday was one of the victims of the accident who had been in comatose and receiving treatment at Birmingham Hospital in Jos, Plateau state since their referral from Bauchi on Thursday.
DAILY POST reported on Thursday that Mr. Jameel Ibrahim who until his death the Abuja Municipal Council Amir of MSSN died Thursday morning in a motor accident where some other members of the society sustained various degrees of injuries.
It was also gathered that they were coming from a quiz competition in Bauchi State when they had an accident on Borno Expressway at Hawan Fanshanu Jos Bauchi road.
Muhammad who also participated in the quiz competition died on the way to Abuja for more intensive care.
Yunusa in the statement also announced that the National Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the society, Mr. Bukar Grema who sustained fractures on his left leg and hand is currently receiving treatment at Asokoro District Hospital, Abuja.
The statement reads, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’uun!
“In total acceptance of what Allah has destined, we hereby announce that Aliyu, one of the victims of the accident of last Thursday, has answered the call of his Lord.
“Aliyu and one other victim of the accident had been comatose and receiving treatment at Birmingham Hospital in Jos, Plateau state since their referral from Bauchi on that fateful day. Aliyu, a secondary school student and a quiz participant, died today, Saturday, 9th Muharram, 1439/ 30th September, 2017 on the way to Abuja for more intensive care.
“We want to announce further that the National PRO, Brother Bukar Grema, who sustained fractures on his left leg and hand, is receiving treatment at Asokoro District Hospital, Abuja.
“The remaining ones are also steadily regaining their healthy status.
“We count on the prayers of all for the repose of the souls of the deceased, the speedy recovery of the injured and the fortitude to bear big blow on the side of all of us-the bereaved,”Yunusa declares.
