A tanker fully loaded with Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), otherwise known as diesel has exploded around the Idimu area of Lagos.
The incident occurred at about 12:30am on Saturday. The diesel-laden truck razed no fewer than 36 houses.
The incident, which occurred in Idimu, Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area of Lagos, is the second tanker accident in the state within four days.
The first was recorded in Iyana Ipaja area of the metropolis.
Speaking on emergency efforts, South-West Public Relations Officer of the National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, said prompt response of the residents saved lives of many.
Farinloye confirmed that about 36 houses were affected.
“We thank God no one died. I can tell you that the situation has been brought under control”, the official added.
