Another Commissioner in Ondo State, Mr. Bamiduro Dada has resigned his appointment to participate in the gubernatorial election in the state slated for November 26.
Dada, who was the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, joined the long list of aspirants jostling for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which has its primaries fixed for August 22.
Earlier, two Commissioners, Environment, Chief Sola Ebiseni and Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede SAN had resigned their positions to join the race.
In a letter he sent to Governor Olusegun Mimiko, Dada thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve the people of the state in various capacities in the past seven years including Special Adviser on Political Matter and later Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftiancy Affairs.
Dada said, “it is noteworthy that God has really used you to enable me put my God-given virtues into the discharge of my duties at the Due-Process Department, Political Matters and eventually as a commissioner.
“Words are not enough to express how grateful I am for the role you have played in my life. It is my prayers that it shall be well with you and your household now and forever.”
Speaking to his supporters who came to congratulate him for a successful tenure, Dada assured them that he would defeat other aspirants to clinch the ticket of the party.
According to him, he is closer to Mimiko than any of the aspirants and has been in the corridor of power in the state since 1999.
