The Ogun State Police Command on Monday promised a reward of N5m to anyone who has useful information on the whereabouts of the abducted former Minister of State for Education, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP, Abdulmajid Ali, said this in Abeokuta after a security meeting with some officers of the command and other security chiefs.
He appealed to residents of the state and the general public to support the police by giving useful information that could lead to the rescue of the abducted senator, adding that any informant could reach out to any law enforcement agent in his or her area.
He assured that such information would be treated as confidential.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, said, “Anyone with reliable information can get across to the CP on 09020911911 or 08081774631, or the officer in charge of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Gbenga Megbope, on 08081766937.”
DAILY POST recalls that the senator was abducted last month by unknown persons at Igbogila, from her farm at Imasayi, in Yewa South local government area of Ogun State.
Her abductors have since asked the family to pay a ransom of N200 million. The kidnappers who contacted the family via phone on Friday night said payment should be made without delay or the captor would not be set free.
