Ancelotti hails Real Madrid’s 16-match winning run

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, has described leading the club through a 16-game winning run, as living in a dream.

Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale scored in the 2-1 win over Malaga, to extend their streak of to consecutive victories, smashing the club’s existing record.

“I’m happy,” Ancelotti told reporters after the game at the Rosaleda. “This seems like a dream.

“We are very happy about the streak. I hope it continues.

“I will get some credit for this, but I’m lucky to train a fantastic team with fantastic players at a fantastic club.

“But this is only part of a long season. The key is to keep working hard because in football the past is the past.”

Although Cristiano Ronaldo failed to add to his 26 goals in all competitions this season, the Portugal captain provided the two assists and Ancelotti praised his contributions.

“I really liked his performance,” the Italian enthused. He did a fantastic job and was the key to the game.

“It’s rare that he does not score but he finished with two assists.”

Ancelotti also played down the severity of the knock Benzema sustained during the game at the Rosaleda.

“He got hit in the leg and he was a bit uncomfortable. That’s why I took him off.”

Madrid host Cornella in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday night and will be hoping to extend their winning run.
