Ancelotti backs Ronaldo to win Spanish Golden Boot ahead of Messi

Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo, will finish this season as the winner of the Spanish Golden Boot, despite not scoring yet in La Liga.

The former Real Madrid boss, who is taking a break from football, was asked about Ronaldo’s current struggles in front of goal, which has seen him not score in four games in all competitions so far.

Talking to Chinese website Sina Sport, Ancelotti stated: “I have no doubts about Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I know him and if I had to bet then I would bet on him again to be top scorer in La Liga.”

Last season, Ronaldo scored five more than Barcelona rival Lionel Messi, to win the ‘Pichichi’.

Messi has also not scored in his opening two games and travels to Atletico Madrid this weekend. .
