The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State has asked the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) not to blame her problems and woes on other parties.
The party urged APGA to look inward in solving the crisis in Anambra State House of Assembly crisis and stop blaming outsiders.
APGA had recently fingered the PDP as being behind the recent unrest in the State House of Assembly, which led to the impeachment of the speaker.
The Publicity Secretary of PDP in Anambra State, Mr Nnamdi Nwangwu, replied to this while speaking with newsmen on Wednesday in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
Nwangwu on Wednesday described APGA’s allegation as ridiculous and unfounded, adding that the party was suffering from internal bleeding, resulting from its ” skewed primaries.”
He said, “APGA is now pointing accusing fingers at PDP for its internal problems when it is common knowledge that the failure of APGA to conduct credible primaries is responsible for where the party finds itself today.
“The PDP has nothing to benefit by being part of the alleged plot to impeach the Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano.
“The spurious allegation against the PDP was meant to distract the party as the 2019 State and National Assembly elections draw closer.”
Nwangwu said the PDP had demonstrated that it was the custodian of democracy in Nigeria as shown by the degree of credibility that accompanied its primaries across the country.
He added, “None of the antics of APGA would distract PDP as the party moves toward a clean sweep of the 2019 polls.
He asked the people to disregard what he called ” The APGA antics to tarnish PDP’s image.
“The hallmark of maturity is to face one’s problem squarely instead of throwing tantrums at others for being responsible for a crisis that is self-inflicted.”
