The ongoing battle for the soul of Anambra Central Senatorial seat has become more interesting as the woman leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has indicated interest in the race.
Sharon Ikeazor has joined the race to challenge Senator Uche Ekwunife, who recently decamped to the party from PDP.
Ikeazor, who is one of the pioneer members of the party would now have Ekwunife, Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe and others to contend with in the fight for the ticket.
Speaking when she submitted her letter of intent to the state Chairman of the party, Mr. Emeka Ibe at the state secretariat, Ikeazor said she had what it takes to lead the zone.
She vowed to represent the interest of the party with pride and great honour if given the ticket and eventually wins the seat, adding that she would ensure that laws and policies that would be in line with the belief and principles of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration were pursued.
Responding, Ibe expressed the joy of the party that Ikeazor joined the race and assured her that the party would follow due process in bringing out its candidate for the election.
