Head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 team, Emmanuel Amuneke, has said they are waiting on a medical report, which will ascertain the extent of damage done to Victor Osimhen’s shoulder.
The Wolfsburg-bound striker, dislocated his shoulder during a test game against the country’s Olympic team on Thursday.
Osimhen, who scored the winner in the game against the Dream VI, was forced off in the game after he pulled his left shoulder, following a clash with his marker.
The 17-year-old was later spotted with an ice pack around the affected shoulder.
“We are not sure how serious it is yet, so we cannot make any declarations (to him being unavailable),” he told AfricanFootball.com “He has to see the medical team and probably undergo some tests for us to be sure the extent of the injury and we have to wait until we have a feedback from the doctors.”
The Flying Eagles will travel to Bujumbura on May 18, for the first leg of the U-20 AFCON qualifier, which will be played three days later.
