Former Nigeria U-17 coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has expressed interest in returning to Egyptian club, Zamalek, as a coach.

This was revealed by the club’s president, Mortada Mansour.

“Amuneke contacted us officially asking to take charge of the team, but we are still discussing the matter,” Mansour told ON Sport TV channel.

The current coach of the team, Mohamed Helmi, is under pressure following their defeat in the Cairo Derby to rivals, Al Ahly, last week.

Other coaches interested in the role include: former Wadi Degla coach Patrice Carteron of France, Romanian coach Marius Sumudica and Portuguese Jose Romao.

Amunike joined Zamalek in 1991, winning two league championships, before he signed for Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon.
