Amosun should be ready to vacate government house in 2015 – Ogun PDP

The Ogun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday vowed to unseat the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun in the 2015 election.

The state Chairman, Bayo Dayo stated this at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, while receiving a letter of intent from a lawmaker, Abiodun Akinlade to run for the governorship seat in 2015. Abiodun represents Yewa South/Ipokia Federal constituency at the House of Representatives.

Chief Dayo however debunked the story that the party had chosen its governorship candidate, saying that every aspirant would be given a level playing field during the primaries ahead of the general election.

He said, “No decision has been taken on any elective positions. I am assuring everyone that when we are going to have our party primaries, I will be transparent and honest to all. All aspirants would be given a level playing field. I am not going to take side with any aspirants.

“I have told all the State Working Committee, SWC members that we are all referees, and an umpire must not take side. We are going to be fair to all”.

Akinlade, while presenting his letter of intent to the Chairman in the presence of members of the SWC, urged leaders of PDP in the State to settle their differences and work hard so that the party could win all the elective positions in the state in the 2015 general elections.

According to Akinlade, “government is about the people. Any government that does not have human face is not a government. The state can get better than what it is now. By God’s grace, in 2015, PDP will return to Oke Mosan. I came to present my letter of intent to be your servant in 2015, with the support of the leadership of our party, our supporters and the people of Ogun State, Amosun is on his way out. If I am given the governorship ticket, I will deliver 99 percent of the votes cast to PDP.”
