Amir Khan is hopeful that he will still get a chance to face Manny Pacquiao in the spring, after revealing his camp was in negotiations with the Filipino.
Pacquiao is expected to take the ring for his final fight on April 9 and Khan believes he is in the front-runner to face the multiple division world champion.
Last week, Pacquiao claimed he was still hopeful of tempting Floyd Mayeather Jnr out of retirement, before he retires into politics.
Khan had previously pulled out of talks with Pacquiao, but he has now confirmed negotiations are ongoing.
“Talks are going really well,” Khan told The Hindu.
“They (Pacquiao’s team) are speaking to my team, I have just left it to my team.
“I fight anybody who is brought in front of me. If it’s Manny Pacquiao, it’s Manny Pacquiao. If not, then somebody else.
“But we are still waiting for response on what’s going to happen. That’s why I took a little break and came to India just to get away from all that because negotiating for a fight is not easy.” .
