Former Senate Leader and Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba SAN, has said that People Democratic Party, PDP’s cry over the appointment of Mrs Amina Zakari as Head of Presidential Electoral Collation Centre was a hoax.

Addressing a world press conference on Saturday night, Senator Ndoma-Egba, who is the APC Candidate for Central Senatorial District of Cross River, said the propaganda by PDP was a distraction to APC.

“The Electoral Act is very very clear on the role of INEC, the commission they are talking about is not envisage by the electoral act. It is just an adhoc arrangement to facilitate the work of the returning officer for the presidential election,” he said.

Ndoma-Egba disclosed that the reason for his re-contesting for the position was due to the fact that over 37 bills he sponsored are there unprocessed.

“There is no mechanism for the continuity in the Senate, the moment you leaves, everything about you and the senate is gone. Besides the freedom of information bill that became an Act of the National Assembly, my other 37 bills are still there unprocessed.

“In the legislature, there is no handing over notes, if a legislature losses his elections, he moves away, there is no time for him to even interface with your successor and that is why it is advised that legislature be return as often as possible.”

On the 2019 election, he said, “There has been high traffic of people from PDP to APC, just watch out, in the next few weeks to come, you would see very big names leaving PDP to APC, and the traffic was going to be both ways but it going to be more from PDP to APC.”

Ndoma-Egba said that 2019 elections are going to be different and APC was tuning her strategy to accomodate the peculiar nature of the election. “We are keeping our strategic to our chest because other parties are angling to win the state,” he said.
