The presidential candidate of the Green Party of Nigeria (GPN), Chief Sam Eke, has taken a swipe at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), over its appointment of Mrs. Amina Zakari to head the commission’s collation centre.
Eke who spoke in an interview with newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, on Sunday, doubted the sincerity of INEC in conducting credible and acceptable elections next month.
The GPN presidential candidate vowed that the opposition parties in the country would resist any attempt by the nation’s electoral umpire(INEC) and the All Progressives Congress(APC) to manipulate the February presidential election.
He expressed optimisms that the presidential flag bearer of the APC and the incumbent, President Muhammadu Buhari would be defeated in the forthcoming election.
His words, “The presidency of this country, it is not decided by the person who want to occupy that position. It is decided when we, the people of Nigeria that are stakeholders decides, this is the person we want to make President, that settles it.
“Whatever they(PDP)are doing in INEC,we are going to kick against it in every ramifications, to make Professor Mahmoud realize that we are watching with our two eyes open.
“But I want to state at this juncture that every plans against the will of this country, against the people of this country, will never stand. I want to tell you also that INEC will not have the audacity, will not have the couarge to alter the forthcoming election, because the winning will be so overwhelming”.
