After weeks of protracted leadership tussle and public expectation that the Rivers state governor, Chibuike Amechi, may be pushed aside as the Chairman of the Governor’s Forum, he has again been re-elected and returned as the chairman of the Forum.
He defeated his close rival, Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State by 3 votes.
The Governor won 19 votes from the 35 governors present, while his Plateau State counterpart who is a late entrant to the keenly contested position won just 16 votes.
DailyPost gathered that only governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State was absent at the election.
