The ongoing ‘ cold war’ between President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State took a new dimension on Friday as Aviation Agencies at the Akure Airport, Ondo State stopped the Governor’s aircraft from flying shortly after he returned from the burial of the late Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Olufunmilayo Olayinka, alongside his aides.

It was gathered that officials of the National Airspace Management Authority refused to give clearance to the Governor’s jet to take off, leaving him and his aides stranded for hours.

As at the time of filling this report, DailyPost could not confirm whether the Governor and his aides were later allowed to take off from the airport or not.
