Amaechi says Nigeria is running on empty treasury, predicts tough times ahead

Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has predicted a bumpy administration for the incoming government in the state.

Governor Amaechi also predicted a bleak future for Nigeria, stressing that the Federal Government was broke.

Amaechi who served as the Director-General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation emphasised that the Federal Government was currently running on empty treasury.

The Governor made the claim while addressing a crowd of APC supporters in Port Harcourt.

He also said the Nyesom Wike-led administration in Rivers state may not be badly affected since he had settled the debts the state was owing.

According to Amaechi, “God has answered our prayers to save us. He has also answered our prayers to save Nigeria. I an not joking, we have no money anywhere.

“In Rivers state, no money. Shey Nyesom Wike is coming, we are waiting. He will look for money for salary by the slum.

“Luckily for us, we were able to endure this pain because we had to pay all our loans. But when he pays salaries we will see whether any of them could do what we did in the state.”
