Amaechi replies Obanikoro: “I will not congratulate Wike”

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state has ruled out heeding a tweet by the Minister of State II for Foreign Affairs, Musiliu Obanikoro, requesting the Governor to emulate his gesture in congratulating the Governor-Elect of Lagos State by doing same for the Rivers Governor-Elect, Nyesom Wike. He said that he will never accept the electoral victory of Wike, who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers because the election was a daylight robbery.

The Minister had on Monday used his Twitter handle, @MObanikoro, to post that: “I congratulated Ambode based on the larger interest of Lagos State. Amaechi and his co-travelers in Rivers State should learn from this.”
