Amaechi finally speaks on violent APC congress, mocks Wike [VIDEO]

Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi has reacted to allegations that thugs sponsored by him destroyed the All Progressives Congress, APC, secretariat in Rivers State.

Some aggrieved members vandalised the party’s secretariat located on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt on Friday on the eve of the ward congress.

Governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike, in reaction, had mocked the leadership of APC for inability to put its house in order during “ordinary” congress.

Reacting, Amaechi in an interview with newsmen described the allegations as ‘false’.

He also took a swipe at Wike, describing him as a ‘fearful’ man.

Amaechi said “Look at the lie that I came and hijacked the materials; there are no other materials, it is just forms for people to buy at the bank.

“People will queue up and vote accordingly for the elections as there are no materials to hijack.

“When people are afraid of election they should tell us; Rivers state are used to writing results, especially in 2016 when the police and army were used to chase people around.

“Now the opportunity has come for Rivers people to cast their vote and they don’t want that to happen.

“So, it is not true; I’m a peaceful person, I don’t like fight before someone beats me to death; so, I try to keep away from physical combat.”

Further speaking on Wike’s statement to hotels in the state to stop accepting APC guests, he said: “There are characters they call clowns in literature, just enjoy the governor’s joke

“When I was governor did I announce that hotels should be closed down not to accept PDP guests.”

“When a governor is taking those steps he is frightened and afraid. It is not politics and I am enjoying the joke, I want him to experience what I felt,” Amaechi added.
