The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dieziani Alison-Madueke, has denied seeking the assistance of former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, to help provide her a soft landing with the incoming government of General Mohammadu Buhari so that she is not probed.
The minister stated this on Wednesday after the weekly Federal Executive Council, FEC, in a chat with State House Correspondents.
Diezani, who was responding to a question on whether she truly approached Abdulsalami for a soft landing because of alleged financial improprieties at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, stressed that she did not commit any crime to warrant seeking asylum in any country or seeking any soft landing.
Describing the allegations against her as malicious, the minister said she had done her best for the country.
