Alleged N107bn loot: Former Benue Governor, Suswam, Ortom’s media aide ‘clash’ on

The call by the Samuel Ortom led administration that Dr. Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of Benue State should return the sum of N107bn he allegedly stole, took another dimension on Monday.

This is even as the state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) had over the weekend, admonished the former Governor to emulate Senator Musiliu Obanikoro by refunding his loot to the state treasury.

The former Governor yesterday engaged the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ortom, Terver Akase in “a fierce battle of words on Radio Nigeria, Harvest 103.5 FM, Makurdi”, during an interactive political programme, the ‘Payback’.

The duo engaged each other on discussions bothering on the aleged misappropriation of fund by the Suswam administration to the tune of N107 billion; the rate of underdevelopment by his administration as well as neglect of the people by the same government in terms of payment of salaries and pensions.

While the former governor was said to have denied all the allegations advanced by Terver to indict him, the Chief Press Secretary insisted that Suswam was culpable in the report of the Commission of Enquiry set up by the present administration, adding that the looted funds must be returned.
