Alleged looting: Wike, Amaechi rivalry heightens

The squabble over alleged looting of furniture, items and accessories in the Rivers State Government House is far from over.

While the key players are trading words over who-took-what, the Peoples Democratic Party have further raised the tempo with an accusation that the alleged looting of the Rivers State Government property has continued in other parts of the country.

Assistant Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state, Sam Nwanosike, disclosed that cronies of the past Governor, Rotimi Amaechi are taking the state properties in Lagos and Abuja.

Nwanosike, who appeared on a local media in Port Harcourt said, “As we speak now, the liaison officer in Abuja, John Enebeli is battling with Coscharis motors to steal the two BMW cars that the Governor uses while in Abuja.

“They are still looting Rivers State Government properties both in Lagos and Abuja and even in Port Harcourt.

“If you say Governor Amaechi did not allow for the looting of those items, how come he found it difficult to collaborate with the transition committee,” he quizzed.

Former Governor Rotimi Amaechi had in a statement signed by his media Assistant, David Iyofor, said that Wike had gone to “ridiculous and absurd” lengths to show his imaginary claims of vandalism and looting in Government House in his bid to vote billions of naira for renovation of the place.

“I am aware that this (Monday) morning, Wike in company of his coterie of court jesters took some video cameramen and photographers on a tour of the Governor’s residence inside Government House.”
