Alleged frame-up: Court grants Dino Melaye bail

An FCT High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the lawmaker representing Kogi West Constituency, Senator Dino Melaye, in the sum of N100,000 and one surety, who is not less than a level 14 in the Federal Civil Service.
Recall that FG had filed 2-count charge against Melaye for allegedly giving false information to the police in relation to a claim he made on April 17 of an attempt on his life.
Melaye, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
The presiding judge, Justice Olasunmbo Goodluck said the Federal Government failed to provide evidence of persuading the court to deny bail to the accused.
She held that a person is innocent until proven otherwise, and granted the senator bail in sum of N100,000 with one surety.
The trial was then adjourned till May 16th and 17th, 2018.
