Alleged extortion: Delta police provide mobile lines to report erring officers

The Delta State Police Command has warned officers and men deployed on “Stop” and “Search” duties to stop demanding for “Tinted Glass Permit” from motorists.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP. Zanna M. Ibrahim handed down the warning in a press statement signed by the State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka and made available to DAILY POST.

The Commissioner of Police in his response to the outcry of members of the public over alleged extortion and other unwholesome acts being perpetrated by policemen on “Stop” and “Search” duties under the pretext of demanding for tinted glass permit, stated that any policeman caught violating the directives will be severely sanctioned just as he urged motorists not to hesitate to report any erring police officer to this command through the following telephone numbers:
