It took a late goal from Ghana, to win the gold medal, in the women’s football event of the 2015 All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Congo.
The Black Queens had the chance to open scoring from the penalty spot, but Agnes Aduako’s effort was saved by Cameroon’s goalkeeper and captain, Isabelle Mambingo Mambingo.
Aduako tried to make amends for her miss, but Mambingo deflected the ball into Portia Boakye’s path and she volleyed it into the net in the 88th minute.
It was sweet revenge for the West African nation, as they lost by the same scoreline four years ago at the Maputo Games.
