Super Eagles Turkey based defender, William Troost-Ekong has spoken on the much talked about “Oyibo Wall” central defence partnership with Leon Balogun in the heart of Nigeria’s defence.
Ekong played down the combination, adding that he can as well work with any other player at the heart of the Super Eagles defence.
The defender told NFF website that, although, the quality of Balogun has no doubt helped the partnership, he can also combine nicely with any other player.
He said, “I enjoy being with the team, and working with quality players. Playing alongside someone like Leon Balogun with his quality has definitely helped, but I would feel just as comfortable playing next to anyone now.”
The last time Ekong paired with Chidozie Awaziem was in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo and the game ended 0-2 in favour of the Bafana Bafana.
