Algeria to appoint new coach before 2017 AFCON

President of the Algeria Football Federation (FAF), Mohamed Raouraou, has said that they will appoint a replacement for coach Milovan Rajevac, before the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Rajevac resigned as coach of the Desert Foxes, after falling out with some of his players, following a 1-1 draw with Cameroon at home, in their first game of the 2018 World Cup qualifying series.

“It will be impossible to hire a new coach before the match in Nigeria (November 12),” Raouraou said.

“At this moment there are no names as likely coaches.

“But the national team will have a new coach before the Nations Cup.”

Nabil Neghiz and Yazid Mansouri are expected to be in temporary charge of the team for their clash against the Super Eagles in Uyo.

Former Niger and Olympique Marseille coach Rolland Courbis, has already been linked with the job on a permanent basis.
