Algeria coach plots to hit Nigeria with early goals

Algeria coach, Georges Leekens, has revealed how he intends to pin down the Super Eagles in the Saturday encounter.

He said he will “get at” the Super Eagles’ “suspect” defence when the two sides trade tackles in Uyo on Saturday.

The Belgian coach, who returned as the Desert Warrior’s coach after 13 years is determined to kick-start his reign with a win.

Mainz defender, Leon Balogun returned to the team after he missed the win against Zambia in Ndola, but Leekens added that the Super Eagles can be vulnerable in defence.

He, however, admitted that his side must be at alert against the rampaging attack of the Nigerian side.

He told Le Buteur, “We will mark them, it is imperative.

“To achieve a good result there, we have to score one or more goals. Them, they will rush to the attack.

“We have to be up early in the game and then operate against attacks by Nigeria.”
