The remains of former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Deipreye Solomon Alamieyeseigha will finally be laid to rest on Saturday, April 9.
Alamieyeseigha will be laid to rest in his Amassoma country home, Bayelsa State.
His burial date was announced by Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (Retd), the deputy governor of Bayelsa state and the chairman of the Central Burial Committee.
Jonah said: “There will be a Youth/Student Activities in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital; public lecture on Federalism and Development in Nigeria, by Prof. G.G Darah at the Banquet Hall, Yenagoa; Night of Songs and Tributes at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Yenagoa.
“On Friday, April 8, there will be a Valedictory State Executive Council Session, at the Banquet Hall, Yenagoa and Wake-keep at his country home in Amassoma.”
Jonah added that there will be a Commendation Service on Saturday, April 9, to be followed by his internment in Amassoma, his country home.
According to him, the burial ceremony will be concluded with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, April 10, at St. Peters Anglican Church, Yenagoa.
