Akwa Ibom APC boycotts elections

The governorship election in Akwa Ibom State has recorded a major setback, as the All Progressives Congress in the state has announced the boycott of the governorship and state House of Assembly elections in the state.

According to the party, its decision to boycott the election was informed by reported widespread hijack of election materials by thugs and armed men.

Mr. Umana Umana, the APC governorship candidate in the state pointed out that out of 1,571 registered voters, only 450 ballot papers were sent to his polling unit.
