Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has reacted to killing of the ex-deputy governor, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo’s 25-year-old daughter, Khadijat Oluboyo by her boyfriend, Seidu Adeyemi.
DAILY POST had reported that Khadijat was found dead at the home of her boyfriend in Akure.
However, upon Interrogation, Adeyemi denied involvement in Oluboyo’s death when he faced newsmen at the headquarters of the Ondo State Police Command on Wednesday in Akure.
Akeredolu, speaking through the deputy governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi during a condolence visit to Oluboyo’s house on Wednesday, described the incident as a big blow to the family.
Accompanied by the secretary to the state government, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde and the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Yemi Olowolabi, the governor urged the family, as believers of Allah, to submit to the will of God, the giver of life.
The governor commended security operatives, especially the police for the prompt arrest of the suspect, promising that he would be brought to justice if found guilty.
He also prayed for the family over the loss and asked for the protection of God on all others she left behind.
Oluboyo, responding, thanked the governor and the people of the state saying “the death of my daughter has been devastating,” adding that because of his religion, he would not seek vengeance in the law court.
