Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has slammed contractors handling the ongoing renovation of the structures at the Permanent Orientation camp of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, in lkare Akoko, over the shoddy job done in the camp.
Akeredolu stated this while inspecting renovation of some hostels at the camp shortly after declaring close the orientation course for corps members under the 2017 Batch A, stream two.
Represented by the secretary to the State government, Mr. Ifedayo Abegunde, the governor said the only block completed by the contractor was shoddy.
He, however, directed officials of the ministry of sports and youth development to ensure that the contractor was asked to correct lapses noticed in the renovation work.
Addressing the Corps members, Governor Akeredolu gave an assurance that various challenges facing the scheme in the state would be addressed.
He urged employers of labour to accept and accommodate Corps members deployed to their offices for them to put in their best while in service.
