Head coach of Enyimba, Paul Aigbogun, has expressed his confidence that his team can still defend their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title this season.
The People’s Elephant are currently fifth on the table with 40 points, seven points behind Wikki Tourists. They however have two oustanding matches to play.
Their last league fixture, ended in a 2-0 defeat to Plateau United at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, but Aigbogun remains hopeful.
“We are not happy, I think we had better chances in the game but unfortunately we didn’t take our chances,” he told npfl.org
“They fought hard and I think they had two or more chances and they took them. We will do our best and try and get points from our outstanding games and if we get (points), we will be able to climb into the top, so we pray to God that we can do that.
“We haven’t done so badly, nobody wins the league at this time of the year. There is still time.”
