The Nigeria Police have been tasked to intensify efforts in intelligence gathering and visible patrol to curb crimes and violence in Plateau State and the nation at large.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in Charge of zone 4, Mr. Mike Zuokomor stated this, yesterday at the Plateau State Police Headquarters in Jos.

According to him, “Intelligence gathering and visible patrol must be intensified to ensure that criminals face the wrath of the law”.

He charge them to desists from drunkenness, smoking and taking of hard drugs, stressing that any officer found indulging in such acts will not be spared.

“I’m warning you to desist from joining occultic activities, as anyone found doing so will face the wrath of the law”.

The Police Chief said officers were like angels, because the role they perform in the society were quite similar, saying “Angels of God are sent to protect people from evil, so is a police man, who protects citizens from criminals”.

Zuokomor said if the public will always cooperate with the Police in by providing helpful information about crimes or criminals, crime would have been reduced to its barest minimum.

The A.I.G urged the officers to be polite with the public, in the process of discharging their constitutional role.

He commended the officers in their work, but tasked them to always look neat both in their uniform and while on mufti.
