The Nigeria Police Force has announced the sudden death of one of its most dedicated officers, AIG Ibrahim Maishanu, who passed away on February 8, 2015 at an Indian Hospital while undergoing treatment.
Maishanu, until his death, was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Information Technology at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Maishanu, who hailed from Yabo Local Government Area of Sokoto State, was born on October 11, 1959.
He was enlisted into the Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP) on January 1, 1984 and had his initial training at the Nigeria Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.
The deceased held a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and had attended several professional courses both at home and abroad.
Llate Maishanu was an alumnus of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.
He was a versatile and well travelled officer who has served as Commissioner of Police in Ekiti, Ogun, Niger and Imo States.
A consummate Police Officer and a caring family man, he would be remembered by his colleagues and friends within and outside the Force as a fine and patriotic officer who gave his best to the service of his fatherland.
While commiserating with the immediate family and the entire officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, prayed that the Almighty Allah grants him eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
